chipolopoloit was a fantastic game and the outcome was the stuff of perfection!

.
it was a “David and Goliath” scenario and i am so glad that “David” won.

.
i heard on the BBC this morning that many Zambians are walking to the airport to meet the Chipolopolo boys as they return home with the cup today. that visual is stunning.

.
my friend rightly said of the win “ gosh, such RESTORATION”. Yes, it really does feel like the stuff of healing, of renewing, of restoration after the loss of 1993, and that thought is amazing.

.
have a Chipolopolo-like week beloveds!

p.s: and speaking of that match, those were some of the most tense minutes i have had in this new year! gosh! do football fans have to undergo such tension everytime their teams are playing? intense!

1. this picture which was put up as a billboard by a church in new zealand of virgin mary receiving news of her pregnancy. i love this picture because it makes the situation real (Mary was young, unmarried and virgin with an unexpected preganancy) and makes her approachable and relate-able. definately inspired by this church. read more about this in the huffington post article.

2. The Africa Cups of Nations final and specifically the Zambia team making it to this final. in 1993, Zambia lost its entire football team and many officials in a plane crash near Libreville, Gabon which will be where this year’s final will be played. i anticipate an emotional experience for this match. Go Chipolopolo! an article on supersport.com explains that the team goes “not only [goes to] contest their third Afcon final, but to also heal a nation that to this day still ponders what could have been, had the team not perished, and to also banish the negative connotations associated with the word “Gabon” back home.”  i totally stand with them and will be watching.

3. Zahara. on my recent trip to south africa and lesotho, i was introduced to the music of Zahara and a new friend insisted that i buy her new album which i did and i am very glad i did. she’s very good stuff. listen here:

have an inspired weekend!
